FullVPN is a newcomer in the VPN market. Nevertheless, it has the potential to provide competition to industry old-timers. The service is built with a focus on security and convenience. Its target audience is people who wish simplicity and a good bang for the buck. While it has all the necessary features you would expect from a solid VPN, FullVPN lacks functionality of the advanced level but more on this later. Without further ado, let us present you our FullVPN review – we have put this promising provider to the test and these are our impressions.

Pricing Plans

fullvpn pricing plans

The service is priced quite affordably. The plans start at $11.99 per month. For those of you who like special promotions, FullVPN offers sizeable discounts: 17% for a 6-month plan and 50% for an annual subscription. This means that the monthly cost of subscription lowers to $9.99 and $5.99 respectively. No matter which tariff you opt for, you will get access to all the futures in full. Plus, you are covered with a no-questions-asked 30-day money-back guarantee. Getting FullVPN involves no risk – if something is not to your liking, you can simply ask for a refund.

The signup process itself is as easy as 123. You just need to choose your plan, specify your email address and create a password with the service, and finally pick a preferred payment method, and you’re good to go.

Payment Methods

Everything is pretty standard in this aspect. You can pay for the service with the most popular bank cards (Visa, Maestro, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB and China UnionPay are supported) or PayPal. At the moment, FullVPN doesn’t support anonymous payment methods such as Cryptocurrencies. However, the company is working on introducing Bitcoin and other ways to pay for the service without revealing client identity. This should not worry you at all because the company keeps no logs about their users activity. More on that below.

Device and Software Compatibility

fullvpn macOS app

FullVPN provides proprietary software for the most popular operating systems – Windows, AndroidmacOS, and iOS. Every app is super easy to install but if you have any questions in the process, the FullVPN website provides easy-to-understand setup instructions.

Since you probably own more than one device, FullVPN enables you to benefit from multi-logging. This means you can install and use FullVPN on up to 5 devices simultaneously.

Software Interface

FullVPN client interface, regardless of the operating system, is designed with a pleasant color scheme and is pretty straightforward. Once you choose a suitable server, a connection starts in just one click. When it comes to server selection, you have three convenient options:

  • an Optimal server – FullVPN app will suggest one based on your current location to ensure the best performance;
  • favorite servers – you can mark any server as Favorite to quickly get back to it the next time you use FullVPN;
  • all servers – this list provides access to every server in FullVPN network. The countries are ordered alphabetically to ease your search for a suitable option.

On top of that, you can make use of the search bar to quickly find a country or a specific server location.

FullVPN apps don’t have many settings to fiddle with, which isn’t a bad thing if you’re new to the world of VPN. The majority of processes are running behind the scenes. For instance, the software will automatically assign a connection protocol based on the device you use. On the whole, the apps will do pretty much everything on their own, you just need to start the connection, sit back, and enjoy a super secure online experience.

User Security

While FullVPN doesn’t offer bells and whistles, its functionality provides commendable user protection. At its core is unbreakable AES-256-GCM encryption paired with some of the strongest and the fastest protocols in the VPN industry – OpenVPN, IKEv2, and WireGuard.

Encryption, no matter how strong it is, isn’t enough for ironclad security; therefore, FullVPN implements a full range of essential safety tools. These are DNS leak protection (it ensures that your real ISP DNS servers remains secret at all times) and Kill Switch (emergency traffic blocker to cut off unsecured traffic in the event of VPN server connection failures).

When it comes to advanced functionality, the service delivers an Obfuscated protocol. It is a super handy feature for clients living in countries with harsh Internet censorship (such as China and Saudi Arabia). Obfuscation masks VPN traffic so that it looks like a regular internet connection. As a result, country-level firewalls aren’t able to impose their restrictions. Servers that support this protocol are located in the USA, Germany, Singapore, and few more locations.

Logging Policy

One of the most important aspects of user security is the logging policy. It determines whether your service is able to monitor your traffic, gather information about what you do on the net, and hand it over to the third-parties. The good news is that FullVPN implements a zero-logging policy. This means that the service collects absolutely no information when you send your traffic through its servers. Since FullVPN itself has no idea about your online activities, it is not able to provide any information to advertisers or authorities on their request.

Server Network

FullVPN is not the largest VPN around but it doesn’t lag behind either. Its middle-sized network is comprised of more than 500 servers. What is more impressive is that these servers are spread among 55 countries and counting. Even some larger VPNs don’t provide such amazing coverage.

Besides standard servers, the service delivers so-called Optimal servers. Each user will have their own Optimal option singled out based on their location. If you connect to it, you can expect higher than average speeds. There are specialized servers, too. Some of them will help you conceal your VPN connection (Obfuscation servers) while others enable P2P traffic.

Connection Speed

With FullVPN, you are able to carry out the most common internet activities including web surfing, shopping, streaming, downloading, etc. It’s true that all the VPNs will slow down your connection no matter which one you use. The question is how slow the data transfer is going to be. To answer this question, we measured our internet speed with and without a FullVPN connection. What we discovered was rather a pleasant surprise.

When picking a server in close proximity, a drop was barely noticeable. We saw no inconveniences with a naked eye but a speed test detected a 15% slow-down, not too shabby. Next, we connected to a location on the other side of the globe. Our speed dropped by about 35% but we were still able to do watch HD videos without lagging. We repeated our tests a few times switching between physically close and far-away servers and the results were pretty consistent. All in all, FullVPN is a pretty fast service.

Does FullVPN Work With Netflix?

While looking for a VPN, many people have a burning question on their mind: Does it work with Netflix? Of course, we couldn’t ignore this question either so we tested FullVPN’s capabilities with streaming services.

We tried US based servers to watch American Netflix and everything went fast and smooth. Next, we repeated our attempt with a server in Japan to unblock Japanese Netflix, and we succeeded as well. Our investigation showed that FullVPN seamlessly accesses some of the most popular streaming platforms such as Hulu, BBC iPlayer, Disney+, and many others.

Please keep in mind that streaming services try to block VPNs so you might face certain issues with a connection. If this happens, don’t hesitate to contact FullVPN customer support and ask which servers are the best for unblocking purposes.

Is FullVPN Good for Torrenting?

Torrenting is often viewed as an alternative to streaming. If FullVPN was helpful to unblock streaming services, is it similarly effective in the torrenting department? Here’s what we found out.

You can use FullVPN for torrenting P2P but only if you connect to specific servers

  • US-California,
  • Canada-Ontario,
  • Romania,
  • Luxembourg,
  • France (Paris).

All other servers aren’t P2P-friendly. The speeds we had while torrenting with FullVPN were average but we were able to download a pretty hefty file in a reasonable amount of time so it’s all good.

Customer Support

It’s great to know that you have someone to talk to if something goes not as planned. FullVPN has a customer service department, too, and it is operated by real people, not bots. Currently, the service provides customer support only via email tickets but replies come very fast and they are helpful. Despite limited options on how you can contact the FullVPN team, our overall experience with tech support was fantastic.

Conclusion

Our FullVPN review showed that this is a decent VPN service boasting solid security, ease-of-use, higher-than-average speeds, and the capability of unblocking popular streaming services. On the flipside, the service fails to provide as many servers as some of its rivals, plus advanced security features could have been better.

9.2 OUR SCORE

Summing up, FullVPN is a great service if you’re looking for simplicity. It may not provide as many fancy features as some of its counterparts but its ability to cope with the declared functions is beyond praise.
